Race Around Ireland 2017 – New Women’s Record Holders

On 27th August 2017, the Veloroos joined cyclists from all over the world at the Race Around Ireland. In the shadow of the imposing Trim Castle, County Meath, the Veloroos took on their latest endurance cycling challenge in this non-stop race around the 2,200km coastline of Ireland!
This challenging event threw everything at the team and their support crew, 23,000m of climbing, complicated navigation, plenty of wind, rain, and testing conditions that ensured the event lived up to it's reputation as one of the toughest endurance cycle events in Europe. The Veloroo's team of 4, were the first Australian team to enter this race. They won the female category by 9 hours, placing 4th overall, and smashing the women's course record by 19 hours.

With two amazing record successes at Race Across America in 2015 and Race Around Ireland in 2017, the Veloroos continue to push the boundaries of endurance cycling. Their next challenge will see them take on a unique format of cycle racing at Revolve24 in January 2018. The 24 hour cycle event takes place at The Bend motorsport circuit in Adelaide, launching the 2018 Tour Down Under. Join us in 2018!
